To Celebrate Dead Island 2 Coming To Steam, Dead Island: Riptide Is Free To Own For A Limited Time

It’s a low price for a 2016 zombie adventure

Dead Island 2 is making its way to Steam on April 22, so the folks at Deep Silver have decided to add some chum to the water and offer Dead Island: Riptide – Definitive Edition as a freebie for people to perhaps cut their teeth on some zombie splattering action before the big title drops.

The game currently sits as a ‘Mixed’ rating on Steam, with many people at least criticising some odd developer decisions and grindy gameplay elements; citing things like spongey enemies and a straight out whacky stamina system.

I mean, take a look for yourself:

But, being a coop title you can likely guarantee that it will be fun with mates – and with a price as low as that, why not waste an hour or two with some buddies. Failing that, you can also check out some whopper savings on other Dead Island properties.

It’s all a precursor for the main event anyway – Dead Island 2 dropping the sun bleached landscape of ‘Hell-A’ for Steam users who have patiently awaited its period of exclusivity to pass.

The offer is only available for 48 hours, so if you want to get your chop on and mince some meat, head on other to Steam and grab your freebie while you can!

Have you played Dead Island: Riptide before? Is it a fun-if-free experience? Or are you more excited for Dead Island 2? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
