There’s no doubt you’re probably still wrangling with two particular titles that have early GOTY call written all over them, but whether you’re hunting robot dinosaurs or getting killed repeatedly at 5fps, why not see what March has in store? Read on as the WellPlayed team weigh in on what’s threatening their +1 Jorts of Wonder this month.

Mark

Well, the Nintendo Switch is certainly going to keep me entertained this month, and I couldn’t be more proud of my favourite pink puffball who will be leading the charge. Kirby and the Forgotten Land was a surprise announcement not too long ago now and I’ve been eagerly awaiting its release ever since. Having an open world experience with hopefully a little more challenge under the hood appeals to me greatly as a long time Kirby fan, so fingers crossed that it will achieve what it’s certainly hinting on.

If all else fails, there’s plenty of other titles that should appeal. Triangle Strategy will scratch that Final Fantasy Tactics itch, Tunic looks like another indie winner with the memory of Death’s Door still fresh, I’m a sucker for anything D&D so Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands could fill that role nicely in the first person shooter space, plus Have a Nice Death and Weird West have plenty of hype surrounding them. Another strong month then, but boy the Switch has so much quality heading its way.

Zach

To state the obvious, this year has flown by and there’s already been so many games that have demanded my time and attention. March won’t offer much respite either, with several titles releasing this month. I’m reviewing Gran Turismo 7 as I write this and as a racing game fan I’m keen to read my review when it’s done. My point-and-click itch gets a little scratch this month with the release of Syberia: The World Before on March 18, before one of my most anticipated games of the year Ghostwire: Tokyo lands on PS5 and PC on March 25. Rounding out the month is King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, which I’ve been saving my chainmail jorts especially for.

Adam

Seeing as though Elden Ring is currently buttering my biscuit, I should really just hunker down and spend my time in The Lands Between…but there are just so many games on my radar. I’m far from a car guy, but the release of a mainline Gran Turismo is well and truly enough to get me in the driver’s seat, despite the fact that I’ll be spending more time on te grass than the tramac. I’ve also slipped into the hype for WWE 2K22 despite my better judgement, largely thanks to that damn GM Mode making a spectacular return. The indie trio of Have A Nice Death, the Aussie-developed Conan Chop Chop and the gorgeous Tunic will fill in the gaps before the terrifying date of March 25 rolls around. Of course, this is when both Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Ghostwire Tokyo drop, forcing me to make a very hard decision. Wonderlands promises a slightly familiar good time, whereas Ghostwire has a spooky setting and the allure of the unknown. Ergh, I don’t know what to do, but I do know that it’s a brilliant issue to have.

Kieron

Oof, we really are still in the thick of it aren’t we? While the world still collectively weeps at the runtimes of the equally-excellent Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring along comes March to say “Hey, I’ve got games too!”. There are too many for me to rattle off in a single paragraph, including a fair few neat-looking indie titles that I have my eye on. The heavy hitters this month though come in the forms of games like Triangle Strategy, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I may even have impressions on the way for a couple of those real soon! But then the month ends with something I’m quietly, loudly keen for in GhostWire Tokyo. Hook that shit up to me right now.
