CD Projekt Red has announced that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrade for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt has been delayed indefinitely.
Making the announcement on Twitter, CD Projekt Red revealed that the nu-gen versions will no longer release in Q2 2022 and will instead launch on an unspecified date. The delay has come about due to the remaining development on the port being moved from Saber Interactive to CD Projekt Red’s in-house team. No direct reason was given for the studio change, but the Tweet claims that the team are “evaluating the scope of work to be done.”

Aside from a visual and technical upgrade, we know very little about the changes being made for The Witcher 3’s nu-gen release, but the lengthy development time and change of studio may suggest that it will be a substantial update.
