If you’re old enough to unironically enjoy ’90s kid’ memes, can quote Rocko’s Modern Life and have a collection of POGS still stashed away somewhere, there’s a pretty high chance that you’ve played the Spyro the Dragon games on the original PlayStation.
If that’s you, you’re probably also very aware already that Activision and Toys for Bob have been hard at work on Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, a collection of those original three games, completely remastered with modern visuals and audio in one package on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
There’s a lot of huge video game releases in the tail end of this year, but this has definitely got to be one of my most anticipated games in the last decade. I’ve been crying out for a Spyro remaster or remake since the ‘main’ series died out after the bloody excellent The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, and I’m finally about to get my wish. To say I’m stupidly hyped would be an understatement, but in the event that anyone still needed any convincing, Activision have just dropped a gorgeous new ‘launch trailer’ for the trilogy ahead of its launch this November 13.
