August was a strange month for PlayStation Plus members, offering up the incredibly fun Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, the niche Tennis World Tour 2 and the…game, Hunter Arena: Legends. September has decided to pop by for a visit now, so that means that a new batch of PS Plus games are just around the corner. Announced over on the PlayStation Blog, this month’s free titles include Overcooked: All You Can Eat! (PS5 only), Hitman 2 and Predator: Hunting Grounds and they’ll be available from September 7.
Have you ever had a full-blown argument with a friend or partner about tomatoes? No? Well, get comfortable with the idea because it’s likely to happen if you play Overcooked: All You Can Eat!. Bundling together the remastered versions of Overcooked! and Overcooked 2!, complete with all of the previously released DLC, All You Can Eat! will have you and your soon to be ex-friends cooking up a storm in increasingly crazy situations. All jokes aside, Overcooked! is an excellent party game that will keep you entertained for a good long while. Keep in mind that All You Can Eat! is this month’s PS5 only title.
A game doesn’t need to be perfect to be fun. Sometimes are good gameplay hook and some goofy shenanigans are enough to provide a good time. Mix in an ’80’s action/horror icon and boom, you’ve got yourself a winner. Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetric multiplayer game that pits a team of four commandos up against the ultimate killing machine, the Predator him/herself. With plenty of customisable gear, lots to unlock and plenty of jank, this is a game with rough edges but it’s also one that you’ll have a blast with if you play it with some mates (we gave it a 7).
With party games and multiplayer madness happening elsewhere, you might want to balance things out with a quiet, stealthy experience. Well, you’re in luck, as Hitman 2 provides just that, with a sprinkling of silly. You play as the bald badarse Agent 47, travelling the globe to take out targets in a range of locations and using a range of techniques. How you dispatch your mark is up to you, whether it be by silenced pistol or exploding duck. Oh, and Sean Bean makes an appearance so that just tops things off.
Don’t forget, if you haven’t downloaded Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighbourville, Tennis World Tour 2 and Hunter Arena: Legends yet, you’ve got until September 6 to do so. And remember, if you’re out of space on your console you can just add them to your library so you don’t miss out.
