Rockstar has officially announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC, and will be released later this year, with a mobile release slated for 2022.
The trilogy will include Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and will feature “across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals.” Rockstar confirmed that as part of the trilogy’s release they will be removing the original versions of these titles from digital storefronts on October 11. However, if you own these titles don’t stress, Rockstar states that anyone who has purchased these titles will still have access to them.
Rumours had been doing the rounds for yonks about the trilogy’s existence, however with Grand Theft Auto III’s 20-year anniversary happening later this month, Rockstar felt that now was the perfect time to make an announcement.
