Developer Madrain Studio has dropped a new trailer for its upcoming survival action title Nobody’s Left while simultaneously launching the game’s Steam page.
It’s the first look at the game since the 12-minute gameplay trailer nine months ago, with Mad Rain Studio’s social media stating that development has progressed well in that time. We still don’t have a release window but Mad Rain Studio has stated previously that Nobody’s Left will come to PC and consoles.
Nobody’s Left is very much a dark and gritty narrative-driven title, with the game’s protagonist – a bounty hunter – finding himself caught in the crossfire between two factions in a war-torn country where most of the land is uninhabitable due to chemical tests. It’s clear as day that Madrain Studio has pulled large amounts of inspiration and influence from The Last of Us and Red Dead Redemption, and if you’re looking to emulate any two story-driven action adventure developers, there are few better than Naughty Dog and Rockstar.
What makes Nobody’s Left impressive though is that it’s essentially being developed by one person – Mo Khakzad – including the game’s music composition (you can listen to tracks on the studio’s YouTube Channel), which will immediately sound familiar.
The new trailer shows off more of the game’s combat, including lots of gunplay and a couple of brutal kills, as well as some stealth gameplay that seemingly confirms an Eagle Eye-like mechanic that gives our protagonist the ability to highlight nearby enemies. The only elements I’m still not sold on are the voice acting and writing. It’s easy to see what Madrain Studios is going for, but right now it’s just not working. In saying that, the game is still in development, so it may just be placeholders at this point.
If you like what you see make sure you head to Nobody’s Left Steam page and give it a wishlist. Otherwise, let us know what you thought of the gameplay trailer in the comments or on social media.
