While there’s already a remaster of one of the best Harvest Moon games (now rebranded in the west as Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town) slated for release on Nintendo Switch on July 10 this year, Natsume Inc. and Rising Star Games, the publisher of all the original Harvest Moon games has announced that another entirely brand new title is slated for release on Switch this Spring. Harvest Moon: One World is described by CEO Hiro Maekawa in a press release:
“Harvest Moon: One World features a brand-new way of exploring Harvest Moon that seasoned players and new generations will both enjoy. Over the decades, Harvest Moon has evolved but has always retained the traditional, family-friendly farming fun that the franchise is known for. The new engine and new graphics will upgrade this experience for 2020. We are so excited to share more about the features of Harvest Moon: One World in the coming months.”
The game is apparently set in a town with no fruit or vegetables and the player must venture out into the world to find them and start their farming adventure. It sounds like this title will be far more expansive that previous games. Hopefully the new visuals also look the part, as I personally haven’t been a fan of where the series has gone graphically in its mainline titles. Alas, we will have to wait for a trailer or screenshots to know the answer to that as none are available at this point in time.
While we wait for an exact release date and visuals you can play the Harvest Moon spin off Doraemon: Story of Seasons on your Nintendo Switch right now! Check out our review here.
