Mortal Kombat 1’s Story DLC Is Crashing Scorpion’s Wedding

Poor guy can’t catch a break

As promised mere days earlier, Mortal Kombat 1 has shared a new look at the gameplay of the latest fighter Cyrax alongside a narrative spotlight of what to expect from the Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns content expansion.

In it we see that Cyrax has a whole bag of fun tricks to take down her opponents – but in a cruel twist, we see that a major plot point of the Khaos Reigns story involves Sub Zero ruining the wedding of his brother.

Poor Kuai Liang.

It seems that the events of the base Mortal Kombat 1 story obviously kept the brothers apart – and enough time has passed for Scorpion to not only found his very own clan, but to find a bride as well. So of course Sub Zero is on board with re-establishing the trauma that defines Scorpion as a fiery ninja hellbent on revenge.

We also get a peek at Cyrax’s red doppelganger, the missile-blasting Sektor – seeing that she too has a bag of tricks…even if her tricks are mostly missiles. With some brutally fast mix ups and crazy bomb tricks, I can see Cyrax players of old getting up to the same shenanigans that they initially discovered in Mortal Kombat 9 – juggling their opponents with mad explosive combos.

Oh, and Cyrax turns into a hornet for the Animality. Perfect.

Khaos Reigns launches September 25.
