Good old Minecraft has been dominating the gaming industry for over a decade now, cultivating creativity, devouring free time and pissing people off by having their masterpieces crumble thanks to creepers. It really is crazy to think that the sandbox titles that dropped in 2009 would set the gaming world on fire as it has.
With the core game still doing gangbusters, a fresh entry to the series was announced at Microsoft’s conference at E3 last year, Minecraft Dungeons.
An isometric dungeon crawler that supports up to four-player coop, this unexpected gem seems to mix the Minecraft aesthetic with Diablo-esque gameplay and if I’m honest, that sounds like a winning combination.
Originally set for release in April 2020, we hadn’t heard a great deal from the project, leading many to believe that it might be pushed back.
There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that it has indeed been pushed back, but the good news is that we now have a solid release date that isn’t too far away at all.
Announced on the Minecraft Dungeons Twitter, the game will launch on PS4, Switch, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass on May 26, 2020.
