Legendary horror director and famed gamer John Carpenter has teamed up with Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment to bring us a new game, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando. Announced at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, Toxic Commando will pit you and some mates against massive hordes of demonic-looking creatures who have spilled forth onto the earth after an ambitious mining mission goes awry. You’ll be equipped with a variety of guns and melee options by the looks of things as Saber’s Swarm Engine spits out a staggering amount of foes for you to chew through.
“It’s exciting to be collaborating on a new video game with Focus and Saber”, said Tim Willits of Saber Interactive, going on to say “Look, I really like shooting zombies. They keep telling me that they’re called ’the infected.’ Please. They’re ghouls, dude. They blow up real good and there are a ton of them. People are going to love this game.”
