It Takes Two has taken home the coveted Game of the Year trophy at this year’s Game Awards.
The co-op platformer beat off competition from Resident Evil Village, Psychonauts 2, Metroid Dread, and Deathloop to win the award. You can watch the game’s director, Josef Fares’ reaction below (video has been timestamped), it’s worth it.
It’s not the only award that the Hazelight developed game won, with it also claiming honours for both Best Family Game and Best Multiplayer Game.
We gave It Takes Two an 8.5 in our review, saying that “A fun, gorgeous platforming romp that makes great use of its split screen-only twist in both gameplay and narrative.”
