Just a day after the completion of the closed alpha, Crytek has announced that their bounty hunter cum competitive shooter Hunt: Showdown has entered Early Access on Steam.
Priced at $29.99 USD ($38 approx AUD), hunters will be able to experience the thrill of the hunt while the game is in active development.
Players will have access to a plethora of weapons and equipment as well a 1 km² map, including 16 locations where the mission’s showdown can take place.
I went hands-on with Hunt during the closed alpha and found it to be an intense but enthralling FPS experience with a ton of potential. I look forward to keeping track of the game during its development. Look out for some Early Access impressions in the near future.
Hunt: Showdown Creative Director Magnus Larbrant had this to say about the game entering Early Access.
Early Access is a big milestone for the team, and we are all excited to finally be releasing Hunt: Showdown out into the wild. With Hunt, we wanted to make the game that we, as gamers, have always wanted to play ourselves: tense, dark, addictive, terrifying—a real adrenaline-pumping experience. We have the foundations laid out, and now with the support and input of the community during Early Access, we can polish that experience together.

Despite a childhood playing survival horrors, point and clicks and beat ’em ups, these days Zach tries to convince people that Homefront: The Revolution is a good game while pining for a sequel to The Order: 1886 and a live-action Treasure Planet film.
