After getting a teeny tiny gameplay teaser, the full Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer for Homelander has arrived to show us what a neurotic super goon is capable of when the kid gloves come off.
With shocking super strength and an obsession with eye lasers, the golden boy of Vought International is every bit as brutal as you’d imagine. But seriously, there are so many eye lasers:
Homelander joins the #MortalKombat1 roster on June 4, Ferra Kameo joins later in June. Check out their game-play here!https://t.co/QIjuLCEPWe

It’s quite characterful to see that Homelander is kind of a shitty fighter. Not in the sense of power, just that his technique is strength-based brawling and his eye beams. It suits the narrative that Homelander is a super “hero” that has lazily rested on his gifts, and never needed to branch out into any kind of finesse or polish. When you can destroy most of your opposition with a superheated eye beam, maybe a brutal punch or throw, who cares about craft or pizazz. He spent more time practicing his smile and wave skills for press opportunities, clearly.
The real bummer is that Anthony Starr is not lending his voice to the MK1 incarnation – and while the voicealike is alright, it would just be ideal to match that appearance with the dude who brings the doofus to life. Take Peacemaker for example – that character is the whole package, through and through.
We also get to see the weird and whacky gameplay mechanics of Ferra, the Mortal Kombat X fighter that is joining the roster as the latest Kameo fighter. Now Ferra was well known for being part of a double act, riding around on the back of the hulking Torr – but with Torr absent, it seems that Ferra is now happy to leap onto anyone’s back and help fight. We even see Homelander yeet little Ferra like a missile – so things are very familiar to how they were in MKX. Neat.
If you are excited to let forth your laser eyes, mark your calendar for June 4. Alternatively, if you have always wanted to wipe that smug smile off this assholes face – June 4 still has your covered. Let us know in the comments or on social media which you would prefer.
