Hitman Developer IO Interactive Has Announced That It’s Working On An Online Fantasy RPG

The World of Imagination

IO Interactive, the team behind the Hitman series, has announced that it’s begun working on an online fantasy RPG.

The announcement comes in the form of a blog post on IO’s website, where it’s first detailed that the team’s World of Assassination series in the Hitman franchise was conceptualised ten years and truly began seven years ago with the launch of Hitman (2016). Coming away from what is now a complete World of Assassination Hitman trilogy, IO is looking to move onto a brand new IP.

Currently titled Project Fantasy, this new online fantasy RPG is a massive departure from IO Interactive’s past releases, with the blog post stating that the game will be, “A world and a game built from the core to entertain players and expand for many years to come. It feels familiar, yet at the same time IOI is going on a journey unlike any we have been on before.”

Very little is known at this stage, but IOI did take to Twitter with a piece of concept art that hints and what’s to come.
