Some social media posts propaganda earlier this week from the overlords of Helldivers 2 gave great hope to players wishing to set foot into their very own mechanized suit of war – with word coming that the production of such assets were approaching completion.
But now, hark – a great tragedy! The Automaton menace has started to threaten the very homeworld that was producing our new toys – so you best believe every Helldivers needs to get planetside and liberate the heck out of Tien Kawn.

It is a fantastic piece of organic story telling for Helldivers 2, adding a little spice to what would often be a fairly standard title update in other games. Thanks to the open-ended course of the war, and how our battlefronts can shift and change – we now have a narrative reason for gaining access to the walking weapons platforms. Does it come as any surprise that with our attention turned to the insectoid Terminids for the past week, the robots managed to blindside us and threaten a valuable asset? We let our guard down, clearly!
Of course the liberation of Tien Kwan is all but assured, because any red-blooded player with a pulse is hungry for new robot toys.
But it would be funny to see what happens if the planet fell to Automaton control. Would Arrowhead just quietly delete the Mech update? Such is the price of failure, Helldiver.
