The next generation of consoles is less than a month away now, meaning that every passing day brings more info on what we can look forward to. We’ve already seen that games like Mortal Kombat 11, Marvel’s Avengers (despite being delayed) and Borderlands 3 will be receiving free next-gen upgrades that boost fidelity, framerate and load times, with more and more titles being added to that list as time goes on.
Microsoft announced this morning that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be getting one of these free updates for Xbox Series X/S on November 17. Being fully optimised for Series X/S, the upgrade will bring with it 120fps in both campaign and multiplayer, split-screen improvements and 4K visuals on Series X. Not only will current owners of the game receive this update, but everyone subscribed to Xbox Game Pass will also be able to take advantage of the enhancements.
It's time to dust off the ol' Needler.
