Google has officially announced the latest entry to its Pixel smartphone lineup – the Google Pixel 9a.
Powered by the Tensor G4 chip (the same processor under the hood of the Pixel 9 series phones), the Google Pixel 9a is launching in early April, with Google’s latest mid-gen offering providing owners with plenty of perks but at a more affordable price point of $849.
The Google Pixel 9a will have a 6.3-inch Actua display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz that is 35% brighter than the Pixel 8a, has all-day battery life, a 48 MP main camera and 13 MP ultrawide camera with Google’s popular features such as Best Take and Photo Unblur, and supports Google’s new AI assistant Gemini. It will be available in both 128GB and 256GB storage options with 8GB RAM and in four colours: Iris, Peony, Porcelain and Obsidian.
Perhaps the most intriguing feature of the Pixel 9a is its new design, which now sees a flat and rounded-edge form factor that is made with at least 23% recycled materials. Like other recent Pixel smartphones, the 9a will come with seven years of OS support (from release) and two-year warranty.
