I honestly didn’t think that God of War could get any better. Dropping on PS4 in 2018, it managed to blow the sock off pretty well anyone who played it, whether they were fans of the series or not (we gave it a 10). The excellent game already sports higher performance when played on the PS5, but it’s about to get even better.
Announced on Santa Monica Studio’s blog, God of War will be getting a free update for PS5 that will allow for 60FPS gameplay at a 4K checkerboard resolution, meaning that you’ll no longer need to choose between fidelity and performance. When played on the PS4 Pro there’s an option to favour one or the other, but this new patch will ensure that PS5 players are getting the best of both worlds. The best part is that this update will be available to all PS5 players from tomorrow.

There will also be an option to change to Original Performance Experience which plays in 4K 30FPS, similar to the PS4’s Favour Performance Mode.
