Don’t Be Alarmed, But Helldivers 2 Players Have Started Noticing Giant Cloaked Ships In The Sky

Something wicked is looming

Helldivers 2 players have had a productive time these past few weeks, spilling oil and taking the fight to their robot aggressors. It all culminated in an electrifying order to rally together and take back the nightmarish Malevelon Creek, home base to the terrifying contingent of the player base that seems set on retiring there.

But amongst the laser fire and fog, some players have managed to look up, and discovered that something was amiss in the sky. Reddit user infinity__cube shared the observation with fellow Helldivers, and many terrifyingly shared that they too, were seeing shapes where there shouldn’t be any:

Helldivers famously likes to drip feed new content into the game with as much mystery as possible – famously remembered with how some players were seeing flying bugs while the rest denied their existence. The concerning detail here is just how many players seem to be encountering these terrible looming shapes, with witnesses bravely coming forward in droves.

As for a theory on what on Super Earth is going on, well there are a few things to consider:

  • Those shapes do not look like Super Destroyers
  • We have never been this deep in Automaton territory before – are we seeing their own command ships?
  • There is a third threat in the universe (currently absent in Helldivers 2) that is famously known for having cloaking technology
  • Maybe it’s just a display glitch, amirite?

All that is left to do at this point is soldier on and continue the fight against the mechanized threat – until such time as Super Earth command confirms either the existence, or threat that these not-really-there starships might represent.

As for me, I will be refreshing the social feed of Pilestedt to see what comment he might have on the matter. It’s not like he steered us wrong with the flying bugs.
