Arkane Lyon has announced that it has delayed its upcoming FPS Deathloop from its May 21 release to a new date of September 14.
In the statement that was posted to the game’s social media channels, the reasons for the latest delay cite the ongoing challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic and making sure the studio’s employees stay healthy and safe.
The good news? Well it moves Deathloop out of an already stacked May, with Resident Evil Village, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant and more all launching in May, and as with every delay it gives the developer a better chance at making the best game they can.

Despite Bethesda being acquired by Microsoft, for the first year of release, Deathloop will be exclusive to the PS5, although it will be available on PC. We’re super keen to go hands-on with the title and hope that there will be no more delays.
Despite a childhood playing survival horrors, point and clicks and beat ’em ups, these days Zach tries to convince people that Homefront: The Revolution is a good game while pining for a sequel to The Order: 1886 and a live-action Treasure Planet film.
