It feels like just yesterday we were kicking off the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft – which admittedly, we basically were – and now here we are staring down thirty years of Warcraft as a franchise.
That’s right, all the way back in November of 1994 we saw the release of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans – and now here we are in 2024 and the franchise is still kicking. So, Blizzard has announced a special showcase to celebrate.

There is a countdown on the World of Warcraft YouTube channel, showing that in 19 hours (as of this post) we will see an epic celebration.
From the video description, we can expect:

- 20 Years of World of Warcraft: Relive the evolution of the world’s most beloved MMORPG and discover what’s next on the horizon for both WoW Classic and Modern…and a special announcement at the end.
- 10 Years of Hearthstone: Celebrate a decade of strategic card-slinging fun and get a sneak peek at the game-changing updates coming your way.

Just one little hitch – seems that the festivities are taking place at 5am for those of us in the land of Australia. Go figure – time zones can be a real pain in the neck. But at least the period to gain viewer goodies is nice and generous, so if you want to wait until a reasonable hour to get in on the news you won’t be missing out.
What do you expect from 30 years of Warcraft? Will we finally see Troll Beards? An exclusive concert by the Elite Tauren Chieftain? Guess we will need to tune in on the day and see what 30 years looks like in the world of Azeroth.
