Death Stranding has received a huge amount of attention over the last few years, particularly as of its November 8 release date. Divisive to say the least, most people are either ardent supporters that love the game for its unique gameplay and intriguing plot, or are critical of the game, saying that it is nothing more than a walking simulator. Our opinion on the game leans more to the former category, as we gave the game an 8 (you can read the full review here).
This is all well and good, but I know what the real question is on everyone’s mind is – what would Death Stranding be like if it were to have come out in a past generation? Well wonder no more. On their Twitter account, artist and game developer Miziziziz, uploaded their interpretation of Death Stranding if it had released on the PlayStation 1.

Miziziziz has a number of other videos on their Twitter showing the process of creating this great little slice of modern nostalgia and has also promised a more in-depth look at their behind the scenes work in the future. This is not the first retro flashback Miziziziz has done, as they have also chucked Untitled Goose Game among others into the time machine back to the good old days of the PS1 and I would recommend having a look at those as well.
What other games would you like to see get the retro treatment? Let us know.
