A List Of Cool Stuff Announced At THQ Nordic Showcase 2024

Everything from a gorgeous hand-drawn adventure to a fender-bending destruction racer sequel

Another year, another very early showing of the THQ Digital Showcase for 2023. Being awake and alert at 5am is a little too rich for my blood, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lovely list of new things to check out.

So, what was announced and/or showcased? Well, get your scroll-wheel ready and take a squiz below!

The Eternal Life of Goldman

An all-new 2D adventure platformer from Weappy Studio, developers of the title This Is the Police, The Eternal Life of Goldman is a gorgeous fable-driven adventure with painstakingly handcrafted 2D animation and a delightful sense of whimsy.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed

Another look at the remaster of Disney Epic Mickey, Rebrushed is ramping up as it approaches it’s September release date. This is a killer title that deserves more than to be lost to the Wii platform – so colour me (with a brush) excited to see it coming to modern consoles.

Wreckfest 2

Putting the CAR into CARNAGE, Wreckfest 2 is about building the car of your dreams and then immediately smashing it to pieces. The first Wreckfest was one of those games that birthed stories for your mates and left everybody laughing until their stomach hurt, so getting back behind the wheel to push some automotive chaos is an exciting prospect.

Titan Quest 2

With a gorgeous gameplay trailer, Titan Quest 2 looks like a heaped helping of ARPG goodness. Showing off some godly powers wreaking havoc across the sun-drenched landscapes of Ancient Greece, the game looks every bit as hand-crafted as it’s predecessor.

Gothic 1 Remake

Playing more like a developer update than a trailer, the video for the Gothic 1 Remake walks players through the world of Alkimia and introduces a few of the key players within the landscape. I never experienced Gothic in its heyday, so I am quite excited to see how this remake is puttering along and taking the time to really manifest into something special.

Way of the Hunter Lintukoto Reserve DLC

It’s DLC for a hunting simulator. I am sure there is a very specific target audience for this, and they are thrilled. Me? I got nothing.

Unnamed Tarsier Studios game

From the creators of Little Nightmares I & II comes another dark tale of concerning imagery. While the title is not yet named, you can see all the signature flourishes you’d expect from Tarsier Studios with a rather concerning pig offering a short warning. Oh my.

Find out more at Gamescom Opening Night Live, when the project is slated to be revealed proper.

Something Darksiders Related

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. More Darksiders. Pinch me, I am DREAMING.

It is a fantastic time when I can finish a THQ showcase piece with some delicious Darksiders news as dessert. All in all, a solid line up of neat new titles, long simmering remakes and a sprinkle of tasty teasers. It may not have the fanfare of some other showcase offerings, but you have to admit it is straight to the point.

Did anything specific catch your eye? Looking forward to seeing what full nightmares await you with that new Tarsier Studios game?  Let us know in the comments, or on social media.
