Hot on the heels of the recent PS5 release of Yakuza Like A Dragon and the upcoming nu-gen port of the original spin-off Judgment comes a report from Yakuza series fansite The Tojo Dojo that a sequel to Judgment is currently in active development.
The news comes via an unnamed source, which The Tojo Dojo believes is legitimate after further vetting, following a recent trademark filing for the title ‘Lost Judgment’. The source confirms that this is one working title for the game, with another being ‘Judgment: Seize the Truth’.
The report also states that this game could have a much darker tone than fans are used to from the Yakuza franchise, doubling down on a similar shift in the first Judgment game. Main characters Yagami and Kaito will also reportedly be returning.
Again, these are very much still rumours even with a credible source, but it makes a lot of sense with Judgment being brought forward to the current generation of consoles this coming April 23, and if true it means fans have a lot to look forward to from the Yakuza series in the future.
