Fans of classic Overwatch shenanigans are going to be happy – with a mighty event targeting those early vibes of the shooter.
Overwatch: Classic will run for three weeks, revisiting iconic maps, the original hero roster, and the chaotic fun that was 6v6 as a celebration of Overwatch’s birthday.

This is far more from just a generic playlist in Overwatch 2 however, with all the original heroes also having their classic kits restored – warts and all – to make sure people remember exactly what it was like.
This means that D.va’s ultimate will actually murder HER, Junkrat’s grenades do self damage – and warming my heart, Symmetra will be reclassified as a Support and have ALL SIX of her original Sentry turrets returned to her. Oh boy.
There will also be no character limit, meaning a whole new generation of people can live through the nightmare of seeing six Winston’s descend from the air on top of them.

As a primer for what to expect, Blizzard has graciously listed out all the character kits as part of their announcement blog post – so even if you aren’t planning to jump into the event, I heartily recommend it as a fun walk down memory lane:
