The Steam Deck Is Finally Getting An Australian Release And You Can Wishlist It Now

No more expensive imports

Valve has announced that the Steam Deck will finally enter the Australian market, with the first shipments starting in November.

After an eternity of waiting, Australians will finally be able to order Steam Decks without going through a third party that imports. Both the LCD and OLED models will be sold and shipped directly through Steam, with the Steam page available now for wishlisting. The prices for both models are surprisingly reasonable, with the base LCD model coming in at $649, which should shake up the handheld PC market here in Aus.

Here are the prices for the available models:

  • Steam Deck LCD 256GB – $649
  • Steam Deck OLED 512GB – $899
  • Steam Deck OLED 1TB – $1,049

You can’t order them just yet, just jump on the wishlist for now, but initial orders will be sent out in November. Reporting live from the ground, Steam has a presence at PAX this year, with its involvement kept tightly under wraps. Once the doors opened, the lid was lifted, with Steam Decks being available for hands-on experiences.

Will you be getting yourself a Steam Deck now that it’s available in Aus? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
