As World of Warcraft: Dragonflight comes to a close, the War Within pre-patch has dropped to get a sizzle going for the newest World of Warcraft expansion experience.
With it comes an event titled Radiant Echoes – essentially a highlight reel of Azeroth’s past legends wreaking havoc across the world and inviting players between levels 10-70 to come and smack them down once more.

When I say that these are some of WoW’s coolest baddies, I mean it – the memories of Azeroth which have taken shape include player favourites such as the Lich King.
For your efforts, players will then earn a currency known as ‘residual memories’ which can be used to purchase limited-time warband-bound gear. Warbands are one of the hot new features of the upcoming expansion – so this gear can be shared across multiple characters within your own personal warband.
Coming in three phases, players will need to take themselves to a zone within the world to take on a Congealed Memory, a boss-level NPC that will continuously spawn memories until defeated. Once this is done, ‘scattered memories’ will appear across the zone map for players to complete a variety of tasks from of Azeroth’s past – such as completing quest objectives from the past, or slaying mobs from past expansions. In a cruel twist, one of these objectives includes collecting pages from a lost book.
Yes, that book.
With the scattered memories sorted out, you are then beset by the final boss – taking the form of some proper legends of WoW history, including:
- Onyxia
- Ragnaros
- The Lich King
Defeating them will end the event in that area, so you can clear off and seek out your next remembered foe.
You can then count your special memory dollars and purchase from a range of neat items – including armour sets, mounts, non combat pets and more. Separate to this loot is an Heirloom ring for people who enjoy levelling Alts, so you might want to check out the Band of Radiant Echoes and the requirements to snag it before heading into the event.
