Space Marine 2 Has Gone Gold

Your eternal service starts in September

A short and sweet announcement from Focus Entertainment on social media today, with the news that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has gone gold.

That means the impending Space Marine power fantasy has reached the point where it is finished and ready for release, so now all we have to do is wait.

After recently cancelling a planned multiplayer beta, citing a ‘priority to ensure the best possible experience at release‘, it is clear that the developers had hit a stride and were working towards that coveted finish line of game development. After experiencing a handful of delays before this point, it is great to see that the team has been able to work comfortably and reach this outcome without resorting to more sinister strategies – particularly the dreaded crunch.

Developer Saber Interactive has seemingly gone all out on making Space Marine 2 the biggest and best Warhammer 40,000 experience they can. And for a long-time tabletop nerd like myself, I was happy to wait a little while longer.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launches on September 10, and if you are not yet on board, why not take a look at our look at the recent Developer Diary? It will get you up to speed on precisely what is being cooked up at Saber Interactive. Let us know what excites you most in the comments or on social media.
