Resident Evil 9, Code Veronica, RE0 And RE5 PS5 Listings Appear Online

*Shocked*

Listings for PS5 versions of Resident Evil 9Resident Evil Code Veronica X, Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 5 have appeared on the online store Playasia, sparking whether announcements are not too far away.

Rumours of the existence of these titles have been swirling for a while now, and they shouldn’t come as a surprise given the success that Capcom has seen in recent years with new entries and remakes in the RE series.

Perhaps the most interesting information gleaned from these listings is that Resident Evil 9 is supposedly titled Revenant Shadows and based on the artwork will feature Leon Kennedy in some capacity. The game’s description, although brief, sheds further light on what players can expect.

“Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows is the latest installment in the iconic survival horror series by Capcom. This game continues the chilling legacy with a fresh story, new characters, and the return of familiar faces. Set in an expansive, terrifying world filled with new threats and mysteries, Revenant Shadows blends intense action, intricate puzzles, and the atmospheric dread that fans have come to love.”

The mention of an expansive world gives credence to the rumours that RE9 will feature an open world to some degree.

When it comes to the listings for Code Veronica, RE0 and RE5, it’s unclear whether these are remakes or remasters, as the RE0 listing specifies that it is an HD remaster, which goes against reports that a remake is in development. The RE5 listing does mention that “New technology developed specifically for the game, as well as incredible changes to both the gameplay and world of Resident Evil, will make this a must-have game for gamers across the globe,” which points the project in the remake direction, however Capcom has yet to officially announce any of these so we’ll just have to wait for now.

According to prominent RE leaker Dusk Golem, the much-requested Code Veronica remake is being handled by the team behind the immaculate Resident Evil 4 Remake, while the team behind the Separate Ways DLC is developing Resident Evil Zero. Again, Capcom has not officially confirmed any of these projects, but it appears to be one of the industry’s best kept secrets at this point.
