Every year, the headlines and award ceremonies are primarily dominated by big-name titles that capture the masses’ attention. But dive beneath mainstream coverage and you’ll find a bunch of genres flourishing. One of those is the good old point-and-click adventure, a genre that harkens back to some of gaming’s earliest forms of storytelling, and one that continues to prosper thanks to a diverse offering of creative experiences. As a lover of point-and-clicks, I’m always on the lookout for games to add to my Wishlist, so I’ve picked 12 titles coming in 2025 (hopefully) that you should add to yours.
Now, before we get started and people comment about the obvious omissions from this list, check out the lists for 2024 and 2023, which featured several titles that slipped to 2025, including Asylum and Rosewater, which are both locked in to launch in March.

The player’s choices shape the narrative, and with multiple endings to discover, no two playthroughs will be the same. This one isn’t far away, releasing on March 11, but players can check out a demo now to try before you buy.

Scheduled for late 2025, so don’t be surprised if this one slips to 2026.
OVERLOOK

Billed as a zen game, OVERLOOK is a different spin on the point-and-click genre, with players tasked with finding missing people and lost objects and helping people solve their problems. Where most adventure games want you to rack your brain, OVERLOOK promises meditative gameplay and simple and joyful puzzles, all backed by colourful visuals and a lofi soundtrack. Brassheart was first added to my Steam Wishlist in 2019 and I last covered the title in 2022. So it’s been on the radar for a while, however, Hexy Studios has told me recently that Brassheart is coming in April 2025. It’s set in an alternate 1920s and follows the story of Pola, a pilot who embarks on a mission to rescue her kidnapped father who was taken by his own invention – a rebellious supermachine known as Valkiria. Accompanied by her robot buddy Pascal, Pola ventures across the world to find the pieces of the Brassheart, the only thing that can stop Valkiria. I enjoyed the demo years ago, so I’m excited to have my hands on the full game very soon.

Well there you have it, a dozen promising point-and-click adventures that have the potential to be total crackers and make for another banging year for the genre. If I’ve missed any titles that you think I should have on this list, please drop them in the comments as I’d love to hear about them.
Despite a childhood playing survival horrors, point and clicks and beat ’em ups, these days Zach tries to convince people that Homefront: The Revolution is a good game while pining for a sequel to The Order: 1886 and a live-action Treasure Planet film.
